I might accept his apology, except from where I see it, he has a long way to go. You can forget to say please or thank you, that happens. But, you start talking about hurting people who have done nothing other then possibly slowed you down a minute or maybe less getting from point A to point B. That is not what I consider a small lapse in judgment, that shows a downright character flaw that no simple apology is gonna fix. It's going to take a lot to gain by my confidence that he really means what he says.
I also look at the responsibility factor. He is in a position where many, many people listen to him. Some are not exactly of the intelligence to realize that maybe he was joking or just going a little too far. They might actual AGREE with him and think it is a good idea. I felt the same way years ago when the Clear Channel stations where broadcasting shows where they were advocating violence towards cyclists. Not acceptable behavior and not at all professional. I think it was a good thing that Lance was on the show, I think it will help. But, the damage has been done.
