I've been reading and trying not to get involved in any of this
discussion right up until the A ride yesterday. While I sympathize
with your experience, it couldn't be any more different from my own.

12 miles in to our 70 mile ride, I got a flat and immediately the
group sounded off the mechanical and the entire group held up. Before
I could even come to a full stop, Dave was there helping me flip my
bike as he dove in and changed my tire. 5 minutes later I was back on
my bike and the group was on it's way again. Luckily for me, I was
the lead rider at the time it happened so there was no missing the
fact that I had a flat and needed a mechanical.

Well 65 miles in to the ride I got yet another flat and again very
quickly mechanical was sounded and Don and Tony were there quickly and
got my bike over and began the tire change. Being only 6 miles from
the finish and being the true gentlemen that they are, Don and Tony
waved the rest of the group on and they stayed back with me to change
the tire and ride in with me.

And to show just how amazing the Gyros can be, 3-4 miles later I got a
3rd flat and being out of tubes and not wanting to waste someone
else's, Don called home to his family and had his son and daughter
head out to find us in their truck and gave me a ride back to the
church to where my car was. I can't imagine what I'd have done had I
been on my own or riding with a group of riders who didn't care as
much as the Gyros do.

I'd love to give a great big thanks to Dave, Tony and especially Don
who saved my bacon in a big way.

When I got home it was very obvious what had happened. I had a small
gash in my tire that got bigger as the ride progressed and as the
tubes kept peeking out and blowing on me. And Tony, I bought a tube
and left it at the store for you. Check with Dave, he put it aside
for you.

Thanks again everyone, I truly love riding with the Gyros.
