Ty,

Chris G. ran over the same rubber-piercing shrapnel and was reduced to waddling
along Olive Branch with disabled conveyance in tow. I simply waved at him and
rode on by...

No, not really. He told me about the tacks and that his front tire slowly went
flat. He was struggling to keep up, and he discovered that it is difficult to
ride fast on your rims. Anyway, his son showed up to take him safely home. I
continued my 30+ pace up Olive Branch.

I hope that it wasn't sabotage since those tacks just happen to be in an area
where cyclists' are known to frequent. But, I will not be misanthropic...I am
sure that they fell out of someone's vehicle unbeknownst to the occupants.
Their back window happened to be open and there was an open box of tacks
sitting near the window, and, along comes a strong wind and out they went.

Personally, I think that both you and Chris are strong enough to have hung with
Logan, Keil, Steve, and the boys sans pneumatics. It would have been great
training...
