Everyone,
He IS doing much better as Hal says.
So, basically, he has a lot of things happening this week.
1. They are going to in and look at his heart in detail this week
using a scope. I believe this procedure is called a TEE
a. Why are they doing that?
Well, Randy has a hole in his heart which is why he had the
stroke. A blood
clot broke free and passed through the hole. Now, put this in
perspective.
He's been riding with that hole and a disadvantage all this
time. Why? His
oxygenated blood has been mixed with the de-oxygenated blood
making his
heart work harder.
b. to get a good picture of the heart and prepare to patch it
2. At some point, they are likely to plug that hole. This is a NON-
invasive
surgery. Very good news. If they plug this hole, he has a much
better chance
of not having another stroke. YEA!!!!!
3. As for his current status, he still has a little peripheral vision
issue, but it's much better. And, there are still some things he can't
recall, but it's much much better. His fitness and his determination
have all contributed to his recovery.
He misses everyone and his first thoughts are about everyone else, not
about himself. He's an amazing guy.
Keep the prayers coming! God has blessed us with Randy and we want to
thank him for all He has done to help Randy through this process.
