Ed, everybody was either in crash mode or avoiding-crash mode to even think
about the plate number. I saw the jerk coming in my trusty ole mirror, and
alerted the group that we were about to be passed, all the while seeing
oncoming traffic (two vehicles). Biggy was at the front, soft pedaled and
hugged the edge of the pavement to avoid being hit by said ahole who swerved
back over in our lane to miss the oncoming traffic. Kathy was behind Bob and
got in his wheel, instantly her, Grey, Kim and Jackie were sprawling across the
lane. I was well enough off the back to avoid Jackie, either jump over her or
head into the left lane. The very polite and alert drivers of the oncoming
vehicles had enough awareness to go off the shoulder to allow me to come into
their lane and not have to attempt to jump Jackie - or there would have been
five down.
This all happened just about at the county line on Carpenter Pond/Old Creedmoor
(no, we had no intentions of sprinting, just enjoyng another recovery ride).
The vehicle was burgundy or deep red, an SUV, and either an Expedition or
Suburban.
Very, very nice folks in the oncoming vehicles, one driver made the 911 call
and the other couple stayed the whole time until we were all on our way, by
ambulance, truck and bike.

  One flaming a$$hole driver

four Gyrosians on the deck (Kathy, Grey, Kim, Jackie)

one broken rib - at least (Kim)

three unrideable bikes (Kathy's, Grey's, Jackie's - after the crash, on her
way back to BJPP)

one busted window and one stolen purse (Jackie's, unbelieveable, at BJPP,
probably ten meiutes before she and Bob got back to her car).

  Sunday in hell!

Heal fast, all those that went down.

  Share the road.
