Saw the first episode of this dramatisation (which we were discussing earlier) last night, and enjoyed it very much. I'm not a Victorian expert, but the costumes seemed fine to me, except that I don't know why Esther was travelling without a bonnet on in the early scenes, when she was seen wearing one later.
