I am finding this discussion of knuckle length sleeve discussion to be interesting. In other cultures of this same time period or fashion development, you can see a similar extra long sleeve in development. I am thinking of the 'hoof' cuff in northern Asia at the moment. The evolvement of the Mongolian style seems to deal with the same question of cutting the sleeve with cuff and then shaping it to fit arm and hand; or to make the sleeve and add the hoof shape...to line either extension in same or contrasting color and such.
