The best lint roller I've found is made of a similar kind of slightly sticky rubber, and all you have to do to clean it is to rinse it in cold water, when all the hair comes off -- let it dry and it's ready to use again. I read that as "it" referring to the 'hair', not the roller. Conjuring weird images of used cat hair. How much would it go for on eBay?
