Thanks very much!! The hat is kept on by pure willpower almost. heh. There is a hat pin, bobby pins, straight pins and even safety pins keeping it in there. LOL! I had no idea how to keep the darn thing in place but thankfully it did stay! It's really lightweight so there was no pressure on my neck.
There are no ribbons down the skirt; its the sheen of the silk velvet. The yummy lustre of the fabric was one of the main reasons I chose it. ;) The gold silk on the guards I hand painted the red swirls and then beaded them.
