My mom says you use cornmeal. Rub it into the fur, then brush out. Be sure
to go with the grain and be gentle. It's tedious. She says that is how
professional furriers do it.

Subject: [h-cost] Cleaning fur

Hi,

I'm one of those people who love to read this list but rarely post. Thank
you all for all the interesting ideas and knowlege.

So to my question... How do you clean white fur? I have purchased and old
white mink fur coat and I'd like to clean it before I cut it up :) I'd
really rather not spend much more money on this project. Any ideas?

Also how do I cut it? I am going to use it to trim a 15th century V necked
gown.

Thanks!

Annette
