Hi everyone.

I had a chance to look at a copy of the Tudor Tailor over Easter and
near the front was a photograph of a wristband of a shirt dated about
1580 in the Museum of London. The closure was an eyelet and "threadwork"
toggle - sort of like half a cufflink.
Has anyone any further details of this, or a more detailed photo? I have
never seen anything like it before and think it would be much easier to
manage than lacing though two "buttonholes".

As for my thoughts after a brief look at the book - I will buy a copy,
both to use as a teaching aid, and for the odd bits of extra info like
the toggle just mentioned. Good solid work in general, without being as
intimidating as Arnold's publications are for most of the novices I
know.
