Yes, all the scenes you described are in the book. I also wondered if
the vase was real(a clever way to use something that is broken and of
the era!)or a museum gift shop facsimile that was broken.

A pity the Costume Institute's space was reduced by the new cafeteria,
but maybe it will make enough money for expansion for the Costume
Institute.

I saw that!
I thought this was great and very clever. The Costume Institute's space
has been greatly reduced by the new uber-cafeteria at the Met [great
food!]. So how clever was it of them to combine two related Museum
departments and space to show both the furniture and the clothes in
their "natural habitat".

I remember a woman getting her hair dressed in the morning light [the
lighting of the rooms was exceptional!] and a woman fainting in the
candle lit evening salon. I remember an amorous encounter you see thru
a half open door to the bed chamber while others cheat at cards in the
front room. I remember an unwanted pass at a lady, with the dog jumping
up and upsetting a table...a vase broken on the floor [I wonder if it
was real...probably].

A great show.

I think I'll get the book.
