silk/viscose piece for fun.
Cut a swatch of the fabric in question, and put it in a small, covered
container with enough bleach to cover the fabric. Leave it for a few hours,
or up to a day or two. Any protein content will dissolve in bleach, leaving
behind whatever, if anything, was blended with it. A couple of caveats:
first, use relatively new bleach, as it looses its efficacy surprisingly
fast; second, bleach, like everything else under the sun, has been linked
with cancer.
