Just back from Kalamazoo. Lots and lots of costume sessions but I'm too tired and overburdened to report in detail, so I hope someone else on this list will give the blow-by-blow.

Yes, it's another year. The journal is an annual, published every April. For those who haven't seen them, the contents of vols. 1 and 2 are here: http://www.boydell.co.uk/43831236.HTM http://www.boydell.co.uk/43832038.HTM I should also note that my publisher told me this week that Vol. 1 is nearly sold out; we're talking about the possibility of a reprint, which I sincerely hope will happen, but I can't make promises. In the newly released vol. 2, members of this list may be particularly interested in the pieces on early Irish dress, Italian Renaissance "flea furs," and Elizabethan women's embroidered jackets. But there are others that will be useful to people working in various specialties. I'm working on editing vol. 3 (2007) now (at breakneck pace, deadline approaching). At this moment, it looks like it will cover these topics: -- Anglo-Saxon use of textile home furnishings -- Anglo-Saxon vestments -- Opus Anglicanum embroidery in vestments -- Upper-class color preferences in Flemish woolens, 14th-16th c. -- Wool finishing techniques, 14th-16th c. -- Costume references in a 15th c. Spanish "Life of Mary" -- Fingerloop braiding -- Surviving textile bookmarkers -- Children's clothing references in the Lisle letters, 1530s England --Robin _______________________________________________ h-costume mailing list [email protected] http://mail.indra.com/mailman/listinfo/h-costume
