I hated "The Affair". thought the frocks were dire, and the acting appalling! But then it takes all sorts!! > ********************** LOL....yes it does take all sorts! You thought the costumes "dire" ????? C'mon! Why? I'm interested in why you hate them. Acting -wise, there was no one really stellar, but to keep that confusion of a script going took some talent. ******************* So your comment "All that Stanislavsky Method in the 1660s? I don't think so......", while accurate in some ways, doesn't take into account the facts of theatre in England. *************************** Yes I'm sure acting changed when women were allowed on stage, but not the stupid way it appears in the film. All of Restoration Comedy proves that! If it had changed like in the film, no one would have NEEDED Stanislovisky in the 19th century! And all that lame "sexual politics" stuff. Lines like "What do men DO when they have sex?" Pu-leez! Just DUMB! ....but beautiful! _______________________________________________ h-costume mailing list [email protected] http://mail.indra.com/mailman/listinfo/h-costume
