I am making a dress from the second half of the 1820s that laces up the back. I am aware that back lacing was not universal but it was sometimes used and I need pictures of how it was done.

A question for those who have seen actual examples of laced-up dress bodices from 1825-1829: Do they have staggered eyelets or symmetrical ones on the right and left backs? The only original dresses I own from that period are closed by other means.

Thanks for any definite info.
