Most sewers hoard fabric, whether they costume or not. With me I think it's the quantity that makes clerks curious--I try never to buy less than 10 yards just to make sure I'll have enough for whatever I make with it when the time comes. I found out long ago that when I really want a certain kind of fabric I've envisioned, and just go out and try to buy it, it's never there. So whenever I see a fabric or lace I really like I get it. Then when I want to make something I just go through my stash.
