That dress seems to me to smack of Little House on the Prairie. In my
own mind, Heidi wears dirndls--maybe my childhood Heidi book dressed
Heidi that way?

The orange dress looks "old-timey" to me. That is to say "Hollywood
historical". I've never seen any photos of any little girl wearing a
dress
with a high waist like your orange one. I've only seen Napoleonic
fashion
plates of such things, and I don't believe that period for this film.
