I have a few hundred patterns. (Yikes!) They're all in cardboard pattern
boxes covered in pretty fabric. I put a sticker on them with MFR and
number range. For example "B 2145-2290" has all my Butterick patterns in
that range. The boxes sit on the tops of the bookcases that line my sewing
room. I have separate boxes for costume/historical, craft, and 'mundane'
clothing.
I have a cabinet, 36" wide, 30" tall, and 24" deep, with two huge drawers in
it with dividers. The top drawer holds all my Simplicity costume patterns,
the bottom drawer holds the few McCalls and Buttericks that I have, plus
clothing and craft patterns, all in numerical order. The private pattern
companies, such as Period Patterns, Fantasy Fashions, and Reconstructing
History, are in a deep drawer in my sewing table. (Actually a great big old
office desk.) The Margo Anderson's are in a 3-ring binder.
