All us costumers are familiar with these tricks, at least some of them.
It would be interesting to get the book and see what ones we haven't
considered. What gets me about the video is that the woman's clothes
look too well put together to have these kinds of quick change
closures. When I have had to use them in the past for breakaway
clothing, it is pretty easy to tell where the velcro is, although from
a distance I guess the audience can't tell. and when it is happening
so fast as with the magicians, it's even harder. And of course, it
takes a ton of rehearsing, probably a lot more than we usually have
time for in the theatre.
Never the less, I might get the book.

Wow. Triple wow. As I was watching this, I was thinking, "I hope
the directors in my theatre dept. don't see this--they'll be asking
me to make this stuff happen on our stage, and I can't figure out how
they're doing it!"
Fun stuff.

My hubby did a bit of research. He found that it's all in the
closures...

If that doesn't work, go to the main site --
http://www.williamsmagic.com/ -- and do an advanced search (upper
right corner) for "costume change". The book is called "Quick Change
- Rapid Costume Changes for Men". There are others available there as
well.
have fun
