It's not so much the gores--it's the gores in contrasting fabric.
Were the gores in the same fabric as the main body, the cut isn't half
bad, although I'm not sure about ten separate inserted gores.
Sorry, that was what I meant. Gores per se were definitely used in
Medieval clothing-- it's the contrasting fabric that I've seen no
evidence for.
