Aha! A question I can answer! :0) The coat is not based on anything, it's a Turkish Ottoman style caftan probably bought from a Turkish import shop. I used to find these at garage sales and at second hand clothing stores quite often. I used to have a stunning blue and silver one just like in your picture - except that I outgrew it. *sigh*
