I am in the last days of finishing the "Ditchley" gown for a 22" doll and am
mostly pleased. I made about 200 beaded motiffs with 'rubies' and pearls,
mounted on dime-sized golden lace and attached them as appliques in as near
the same as one can count and surmise what cannot be seen on the gown of the
portrait. I was surprised at Hunnicut's description of the one she did for
ER...she mounted only the ones that would be seen by the camera. La.
Now I understand why!

Its many things that kick you in the right directions, books and other
things.
One of the major things that gave me a real kick was the australian
embroidery magazine Inspirations. I subscribed for it for 2 years, and
also got a lot of their back issues. I dont subscribe for it anymore,
because its almost the same style wich goes on with their issues, and i
was only interrested to learn some things from them.
But they surely was a big inspiration for me.

Ribbon Embroidery and Stump Work (Di van Niekerk) The last two put me in
the mind of what Bjarne so delights us with..Now for time to try to work
some of this out...so many good ideas and so little time. Lots of
pictures and good explanation on setting up the fram ,transferring
pattern, and manipulating the needle and other tools.. Sort of what is
under discussion now?
