Bjarne, have you seen this book from the Ward collection at Snowshill? The
illustrations of photos do not give a real explanation of spangles and
sequins as compatable with metal discs as I have seen with Your work. This
puzzles me.

Subject: [h-cost] seaquins and spangels
Seaquins and spangels are the same. Its round flat metal cirkles with a
hole in the middle.
Most were made of silver and gold, in 18th century they started to make
colloured ones made by silver foil wich was vernished in collours.
There also was other shaped ones, wich they called paillons in france.
They could have more holes to stitch it to the surface with.
If you want to read more about it i recomend the book:
Art of the Embroiderer by Saint Aubin.
He was a master embroiderer to Louix XV.
