You need the right needle. I'd suggest starting with a "microtex"
style sharp needle; even though it's a knit, the surface treatment
will prevent runs. I'd also suggest a silicone lubricant to wipe down
the needle on a regular basis. Working with this stuff will dull your
needle pretty quickly, so expect to replace it regularly.
If the sharp needle doesn't work on this fabric, try a "jeans" style
sharp needle, or a "leather" chisel-point needle. Those should also
work for clear vinyl shower curtain plastic...
