OH!

I remember years ago I made a doublet with this kind of weaving of strips of fabric with.

What I did was cut out the doublet pieces and then on Russian tulle laid the strips on it and then hand tacked them together.

You can do the same thing. Cut out a paper pattern piece of the sleeve head and then lay the strips on it to see how it will go.

Good luck, post pictures!

Subject: [h-cost] Puffed Sleeve on Elizabethan Loose Gown

Dear All

Thanks for your help with my pattern questions. I have decided to make a
loose gown out of my mid-green cotton velvet and an open gown out of a
brocade. I'm trying to use up my cupboard of fabrics. I would like to copy a sleeve at http://www.earthlydelights.com.au/sleeve.jpg for the loose gown.

Any ideas how this one might have been constructed?

Many thanks

Aylwen
