Me neither, I came from a theatrical background as well. I didn't take it that 
way, and  I figure if people can't see the difference between entertainment and 
factual reproduction, (and value and necessity for each), they aren't very 
bright, and aren't worth bothering over!  

Ooooo, meanie me!  ;}

(I should say, that my dad, who I respected very much, was a dramaturge, and 
had a very difficult time watching anything (from film to theater) without 
criticizing it.  
It was kind of funny, because he could read books that way....loved Agatha 
Christie, and for that matter loved, of all things, Mary Hartman, Mary Hartman!

  You didn't?  Am I just being overly sensitive?  I often feel like 
  historical re-enactors and reproducers of accurate historical costumes 
  look down their noses to a certain extent at theatrical costume 
  designers because the latter  don't usually attempt complete 
  authenticity.
