I remember that the script for "Gypsy" - the Broadway musical, not the film, used it - Gypsy Rose either called herself an ecdesiast, or one of the strippers, during the number "You've gotta have a gimmick" used it in dialogue. (I was wardrobe mistress in the West end - Angela Lansbury version - not a fun experience!)
