My first thought would be to go the direct route--call some orthopedic
offices and ask if you can have an old leg cast they've removed.

OH YUCK!! 6 weeks' (or more) worth of dead skin cells and dried sweat.
Please don't go there.
Get some plaster rolls from a hobby shop and make one to fit the actor. Wrap
it with sheet cotton first to make it less form fitting and as a cushion.
Use a dremel tool to cut it off and some velcro to make it re-usable.
