Oh, and don't bother hiking all the way up to Greenberg & Hammer.  It is a 
teeny weenie store with almost nothing to see.  IMHO, their catalogue is a much 
better way to shop.

  I was there shopping last year at just about this time.  I saw no fabric out 
front the two or three days I was there. 
  Also, I found no "really cheap" fabric. All in all, looking for linen and 
wool and silk, I was disappointed by the selection.  If you are looking for 
high end fabric, like stuff which is beaded - there is tons!

  The fashion district information kiosk was never opened the whole time I was 
there.  (The one next to the bronze tailor statue).

  There are several stores on second story level.  You can see the stuff from 
the street, just poke around and don't be afraid to ask for directions!
