How odd it is that someone would paint a picture from a photo of a costume
exhibit at the Met. Since it is his original oil painting, it might not be
a copyright issue. However, it probably would have been better to credit the
Metropolitan Museum of Art in New York City and the photos of the exhibit
seen in the catalog book for the exhibit ("Dangerous Liasons") as the
"inspiration" for the paintings. It looks like intellectual plagerism by not
crediting the source.

Some times we speak about copy rights.
I was astunned yesterday when i read a rewiev of a new art exhibition in
Copenhagen. A danish painter exhibits his work in Bredgade.

It is all copyed from the book "Dangerous Liasions".
If you schroll down under the picture to the right, there are numbers for
more pictures...............
But he must have asked for permission or what?
