I'm familiar with that garment but actually I'm not looking for a fitted
coat, I'm looking for an overcoat with sleeves. Cloaks get boring pretty
quickly, and I want to make a nice winter coat for someone I know. Thanks
though.

You might be interested in looking at the surviving "pourpoint of
Charles of Blois", which dates to the later 14th century. If you
plug that name into the appropriate search field at <http://
www.heatherrosejones.com/survivinggarments/choosegarment.php>, it'll
give you a list of various publications that have information on it.
