Oh, bless you, Fran. Out comes my marcasite collection! I almost never have an excuse to wear any of the 40 rings and assorted brooches I haven't been able to resist over the years.... And thanks, Cynthia, for the cigarette suggestion. There's no way we would be permitted to smoke in this mansion, but the candy cigarette would be a perfect touch. And my Queen Elizabeth ropes of pearls will work.
Having fun already....

I would suggest some showy (but fake) jewelry in geome tric art- deco-styled designs. Rectangular "baguette" stones are good. Diamonds, sapphires, emeralds, rubies. Filigree settings are also good. Marcasite/rhinestones are good.

If you want to splurge a little on some repro jewelry that is affordable to the modern middle classes without being total junk, try this website:

The fun thing about the 1920s, IMO, is that you don't have to exhibit discreet good taste.

You may be nouveau riche, but if you are a senator's wife, you wouldn't
dress in the latest fashions. Wide hats were still worn in the summer
and by women of a certain age. For yourself, you would want to show off that beautiful long hair in one of the complicated styles all braids and buns for those that didn't believe in cutting their hair. You wouldn't be too conservative--maybe a candy cigarette(if you don't
smoke)in a showy, diamante-studded holder might be in order. Pearls
would be a must.
