I have had good luck finding reasonably priced tropical weight wool from fashionfabrics.com They have been reliable and occasionally have some great sales. I have also had pretty good luck dying the light weight wool just using Rit dye. A lot of times they have tan or something kind of bland.Be careful with ordering velvet from them though. That was the only time I was disappointed with their fabric.
