That means at least two occasions on which parts were repainted, possibly significantly. That means things like, say, the shape of a silhouette are VERY suspect, because these things may change as someone repaints a background or redefines a figure.

Although one would *hope* that a modern restorer would know the difference between a man and a woman in a formulaic scene like this, it is not inconceivable that the strangely feminine shape of the young Magus's torso is a result of the restorer's brush.
