Wow indeed! What a fascinating site, with some quite haunting portraits. In English churches you can see memorials with sculpted portraits of the deceased, but never oil paintings. I gather a lot of the subjects must be clergymen, as they're wearing ruffs long after these ceased to be fashionable.
