Hi everyone, I have a small mystery for the collective mind here: I was contacted by a Luthier who used this painting as his inspiration for the construction of a new Lute. He would like to know the artist and the year of the painting. Other than 'Renaissance' he has no details and would like to know more. I'm finding this picture very interesting due to the details on some of the ladies gowns, the pleats, the puffy sleeves. Its not something I recall coming across before - but then this is an era I have not focused on much as yet. I plan on digging through the art archive I usually use for my research later this weekend to see what I can find, but I know there are folks here who specialize in this era, and might be able to narrow down the year and country for me.
