It's been, um, almost 20 years since we lived in Amsterdam... but
FWIW my family really liked the outdoor museum at Enkhuizen. Think
living history farms, except it's the everyday lives of 19th C.
fisher folk instead of farmers. :-) Good costume content, too. We
day-tripped it by train, IIRC. There's also a nice art museum in The
Hague but my feeble brain no longer remembers the name of it.
There used to be a couple of preserved windmills in one [or more?] of
the Amsterdam city parks, and be sure to take a bike ride through
Amstel Park and go eat pancakes at the famous pancake house...
assuming it's still there!

costuming, social dance & history from the early Renn up to and
