I have some favorite shoes where the upper is separating from the sole
at the widest part of my foot. The upper is either butted right against
the sole, or tearing right there. (It's hard to tell because of the shoe
lining.) Either way, there is no seam allowance. I've thought of gluing
them, but I don't see how a butted-glued arrangement would withstand the
stress of walking around. I think a patch on the inside would be
uncomfortable for my toes. Any hints?

My shoemaker recommended "Shoe Goo", I actually bought some at his shop.

Subject: [h-cost] Shoe glue
I have a gorgeous pair of child's cowboy boots that are at least 50 years
old, but the upper is separating from the sole at the heel. A good 3 inches
is no longer attached.
A shoemaker is not within a manageable distance for me. Would I be
successful tackling this myself? If so, what sort of glue do I need to look
for?
Thanks for any advice.
