I was surprised by this because I had never heard it used in such a way. I had always heard it used to mean woman or wife. Granted, it is a condescending racist term but certainly not an obscene or sexual one. So I looked at wiki to see what it said. It does mention the vagina issue but said it didn't arise until the 1970s where there are earlier usages of the word which seemed to mean woman.
