By default, Oracle uses a lot more (cache) memory than H2. Another
problem could be that an index is not used (did you run ANALYZE?).
Without more details I'm afraid it is not possible to say what the
problem could be. I suggest to analyze the problem yourself first:

If this doesn't help, could you create a simple standalone test case
so we can understand and reproduce the problem?
