Sorry for the misunderstanding. I do want to close the DB connection but I do not want to loose the data when the connection is closed. When I restart my application it should be able to connect to my DB and continue from where it left off. This includes all the previous data is there and identity sequence number should continue the count from where it left off (not start from 1 again).
