Hi Tim,

Lofi is chosen as the default for globaldevices name space if there is a 
no dedicated /globaldevices slice mounted at the time of sun cluster 
configuration (scinstall).  You will get a warning message that lofi 
will be chosen towards the end. 

Regarding your question about the feature being "production ready" -  
the feature is fairly new.  The only problem we found during our testing 
was globaldevices: lofiadm: could not unmap device /dev/lofi/127: No 
such device or address

But again, it was not very often noticed unless the system is recycled 
every few minutes. Moving between lofi and a dedicated /globaldevices 
partition is definitely possible.  Others on the alias will correct me 
if that is not the case.

I don't have any numbers regarding performance though.
