After thinking about it for a while I realise I only really care that the markup is semantic and accessible. Arguing about the UI's looks is something I don't want to be doing, as my design skills stop at putting corners on rectangles! From what I've seen we are using <button> and other elements properly, so I'm changing my vote. +0 on the widgets issue.
