this patch was produced versus the 3507 revision of trunk. I also
encountered the same message, but decided to ignore it, as the patch simply
attempts to comment out a line in connection.php which doesn't exist in
makaanga.

as for the dash_latestentries.php related notice, it is not something I have
come across. The only issue I've encountered so far concerns the behaviour
of the podcast plug-in, which may be ACL-related (podcast post displays fine
while logged-in but is not included in the default blog view for your
regular visitor)
