In summary, keep what's included in a minor point release to a
minimum, those changes that address data loss, security, or that would
have been blockers to a major point release.

I don't think it was unclear. It said basically what I've said above.
It has been revised and now says something I don't agree with, because
I'm concerned that for each minor point release we will have to
revisit what "trivial" means, what should go in and what shouldn't,
and the associated bug-introduction risks I've already banged on
about, when we should be focussing on making a release to address one
of the above non-trivial issues.

But the revised policy now says something I think most of the
community agrees with, even if I don't, and in the interests of the
community, I'm happy to accept that.

P.S. People are doing great work to push this along and get a release
ready, especially Skippy, and I don't mean to detract from that in any
way.
