This seems like a good idea, since the interface element doesn't look 
like anything useful when you first install.

What needs to be taken into account is that I've imported about 10 years 
of posts into my Habari install.  I have well over 3000 posts.  They 
don't fit in the timeline even at one pixel columns.

The previous jqueryUI-implemented timeline scrolled.  I think the 
current timeline, since it had to be rewritten when the jQueryUI update 
broke stuff, does not scroll.  This should be reinstated.

I think this all requires less a vote than working code.
