I've just upgraded today to the latest release of the Eclipse sensor, and I'm now getting Cedric's problem.

Also, this may explain a problem Melissa had with data being lost on Friday.

Takuya, this is Code Red.

Philip

Hi,

I found that I lost lots of sensor data recently.

Problem description: When I shut down eclipse, the eclipse sensor attempts to send data
to the server. Due to some unknown reason, it's blocked forever, therefore UI does not
respond. I have to kill the entire eclipse process the Windows way.

Sensor log shows:
...
Activity add OK (1 total)
#> send
Sending sensor data (10/04 16:22:48)
(Log ends here, because eclipse sensor is blocked forever).

No data are sent to the server, offline data is empty, and they are simply gone because
I kill the eclipse process.

What I am thinking is that life would be better if sensorshell could support some
notion of transaction by writing a log even before attempting to send sensor data (not
just writing offline data after it detects error sending data).

Cheers,

Cedric
