Greetings,

We are delighted to announce a new stable release of Hackystat.

Version 6.5.508 includes the following major enhancements:
* User Guide Chapter on Software Telemetry, available at:
 <http://hackystat.ics.hawaii.edu/hackystat/docbook/ch05.html>
* Improvements to telemetry definition language
* Improvements to Issue sensor
* New configurations: Hackystat-HPC and Hackystat-Standard
* The usual uku million bug fixes, all available here:
<http://hackydev.ics.hawaii.edu:8080/secure/IssueNavigator.jspa?reset=true&;
pid=10000&fixfor=10020>

In addition, there are several new Hackystat extensions now in development:
(1) A "Continuous GQM" facility, under development by Christoph Lofi, which
will integrate Hackystat with the Goal-Question-Metric paradigm.
(2) A "Stream Analysis" facility, under development by Hongbing Kou, which
will support "micro-process" recognition. An initial recognition facility
will focus on support for identifying Test Driven Design.
(3) A "Priority Ranked Inspection" facility, under development by Aaron
Kagawa, will use metrics to identify which modules in a system appear most
in need of code inspection.
(4) A "Experimental LabKit" facility, under development by Mike Paulding,
will facilitate the setup and monitoring of software engineering
experiments.

We plan to see these extensions become available for general use sometime
during 2005. Please contact us if you are interested in more information
about any of these extensions.
