[ http://issues.apache.org/jira/browse/HADOOP-720?page=comments#action_12452019 ] Doug Cutting commented on HADOOP-720: -------------------------------------
We should not maintain documentation in MS Word. This should either be hand-editted HTML or XML, of if we wish to use a WSYWIG editor, then we should store the document in ODF or some other open format. The original format that we maintain should be easy for all to edit. Is there a reason not to use Forrest, and include this in the site documents? Forrest documentation is written in XML, but PDF is produced automatically along with HTML. > Write a white paper on Hadoop File System Architecture, Design and Features > --------------------------------------------------------------------------- > > Key: HADOOP-720 > URL: http://issues.apache.org/jira/browse/HADOOP-720 > Project: Hadoop > Issue Type: Improvement > Components: documentation > Reporter: dhruba borthakur > Assigned To: dhruba borthakur > Attachments: HadoopArchitecture.html, HadoopArchitecture_v2.doc, > HadoopArchitecture_v2.htm > > > Write a white paper on Hadoop File System Architecture, Design and Features. -- This message is automatically generated by JIRA. - If you think it was sent incorrectly contact one of the administrators: http://issues.apache.org/jira/secure/Administrators.jspa - For more information on JIRA, see: http://www.atlassian.com/software/jira
